Original 1922 U.S. Army Sex Morality course completion certificate issued at the remote Fort William H. Seward, Alaska (present-day Haines).
Typed Hospital, Office of the Surgeon letterhead & hand-signed by post surgeon Ralph E. Henry. Certifies that Captain Frank W. Halsey, 59th Infantry, successfully completed the mandatory post-WWI social-hygiene/venereal-disease prevention and moral instruction lecture series.
A remarkably blunt and now almost unbelievable piece of interwar military ephemera from one of the most isolated U.S. Army posts in the country. These certificates were issued in tiny numbers and almost never survive this is the first original example I have ever seen offered publicly.
Size: 8" × 5¼". Two original binder holes at top (as issued for filing), light age-toning, a few small ink spots from period handling (see photos), one short, closed edge tear top left, creases from old folding, but completely intact.
