Gorgeous antique woven coverlet. Eagle and central star design. Fringe on 3 of 4 sides. Lovely motifs of acanthus leaves, pumpkin, grape clusters and of course the American Eagles holding the shield. Eagles are seen in other coverlets woven around the time of the American Centennial in 1876 - this gives a good idea of the time this was woven, but the quilt does not have a date. Very good condition-likely not for everyday use but saved for special occasions. Classic American craftsmanship, heirloom quality.
