Rare and beautifully made pair of Nuart bronzed art metal bookends from 1924 depicting Abraham Lincoln sitting in a throne-like chair draped with the American flag.
Each Lincoln bookend is identical, cast with excellent sculptural detail, from Lincoln's face to the U.S. flag that drapes his Egyptian revival styled throne. The front of the base is inscribed "LINCOLN", and the back is embossed "© 1924" and near the middle "© 1926 B.B. INC." These old Lincoln bookends are in very good shape with their lush bronzed patina intact with just a few small spots of finish wear (see photos). One bookend has a small crack between the legs (see last photo).
Each stands 6.5" tall by 4" wide by 5.5" deep, and each weighs 2.5 lbs.
