M65 Military Field Jacket with Liner, Made in USA, Olive, Autumn/Winter

M-65

The M-65 field coat is widely used by the U.S. military and many other countries around the world. As its model name indicates, it was officially adopted by the U.S. military in 1965. Similar to the CWU-45/P flight jacket, it was also adopted by the military forces of various countries, including the former Western bloc countries, Latin America, and Asia. During the Vietnam War, the M-65 protected American soldiers from the cold in the highlands and the surprisingly chilly nights.

The M-65 also protected soldiers from the desert cold during the Gulf War. In the U.S. military, the M-65 was not only used by the Army but also by Air Force ground crews and Marine Corps soldiers. Alpha Industries produced an astonishing number of these M-65s for many years, supplying them to various countries. Alpha Industries held the largest share of the supply to countries outside of the United States.

The M-65 field jacket, with its high level of design and functionality, has greatly influenced the development of field jackets in other countries. Its influence has also extended to the fashion industry, with many apparel brands releasing M-65 type jackets every year, often customized with specifications suitable for urban wear.

This is a civilian model with three stripes, made by Alpha Industries, a major supplier of U.S. military clothing.

The hood and drawstrings are complete and in good condition.
Although difficult to see in the images, there is some fading overall, some light soiling around the collar, and some light soiling on the hem, consistent with its age.
