Vintage Glidden Pottery lidded casserole dish made in Alfred, New York, mid 20th century. This piece features a soft speckled cream glaze over stoneware with exposed clay at the rim and unglazed base, characteristic of Glidden’s functional studio pottery.

The form is a compact, round casserole with integrated side handles and a domed fitted lid. The underside is incised “Glidden 165,” identifying the shape number.

Approximate measurements are about 6 3/4 inches handle to handle, about 5 inches across the interior opening, and about 3 inches tall with the lid in place. Approximate capacity is 2 to 2.5 cups.

A versatile size for individual casseroles, baked sides, or oven-to-table serving, and a classic example of American stoneware from the 1950s era.
