A charming antique 19th Century English Staffordshire hen covered tureen or eggery, circa 1880. No maker's mark. These were typically used to store eggs. This vibrant colorful Staffordshire piece features an ochre and black hand painted hen sitting on her eggs and resting on a yellow basketweave oval base. It displays beautifully, perfect for a collection or a charming accent to a country kitchen. She is in excellent condition, no damage or crazing. This piece is believed to be Staffordshire, however they did not mark all their pottery.
